Happy Independence Day!

I know I used this before, but for obvious reasons, I think it’s worth repeating…

As you know, Fun Fridays on my blog always feature a cartoon  with a literary theme.  However, finding something in the way of literature which featured the Fourth of July was next to impossible.  So I know it’s stretching things a bit, but since Thomas Jefferson was the principal author of our Declaration of Independence (as well as the Land Ordinance of 1784), I think we can grant him a special dispensation and call him an author.  (Isn’t that him standing behind the grill?  And to his right, I’m almost positive, is Benjamin Franklin who also authored books among the numerous other things the creative man did in his spare time.)

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, friends, and whether you’re driving or handling fireworks, please stay safe!

  1. Cute cartoon. I don’t remember it, but I’m in the midst of going through my page proofs for World of the American Revolution, so it’s extra funny to me. 😉

    Have a wonderful holiday, Rachel!
