Writers, you have got to watch this! Normally I am not a fan of Al’s (at all!), but this definitely kept my attention… and made me laugh. Hard. Trust me. The less than four minute investment will be worth it.
Time to talk: Are you guilty of any of the crimes depicted in this video? Which do you appreciate more: the lyrics or the graphic art that went into the making of this video? Do you like anything by Al?
Love that video. I sent it to my editor when it came out. I think she made a checklist of my word crimes.
LOL! That’s hilarious! 😀
Every dyslexics worst nightmare come true!
LOL! Too funny, Sir Mike! 😀
He’s a talented guy.
I think this song is great, but I think I’m even more impressed by the graphics involved. 😀
I sometimes write the way I speak, which means yes, I sometimes say less than three instead of fewer even though I know better. Maybe what I need is a speech class. 😀 Loved the video. Thought it was hilarious.
LOL! Thanks… Yes, I often write the way I speak when it’s just casual, such as email, Facebook, etc. (I also abuse exclamation points on social media, though I do know better when writing for real!) LOL! 😀
Really funny. Brightened my day 🙂
Awesome! 😀
I said “I could care less” for years until a kind soul took pity and corrected me. My mortification was total. But I use the Oxford comma and always will! No “X” in espresso! Or especially. Rachel, this was great.
LOL! Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
My granddaughter spells many as “meny”. That’s how it sounds, correct?
That’s so cute! 😀
Weird Al iz veri funnie;
LOL! Yez, hee iz! 😀
Luckily my grammar is pretty good. Mostly when I make a mistake, it’s a type-o. But good for Weird Al on this one, especially in this day and age when so many people communicate online, it’s so much easier to weed out, well, let’s just say, the good from the bad!
LOL! That’s so true! 😀
Love the video. When I’m writing anything, I always proofread what I’ve written, even if it’s a short statement. It may be time consuming, but I want people to understand what I’m saying 🙂
That’s an excellent habit more of us need to utilize! 😀
so funny –
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Great catch here, Rachel. Al is dead on. Too many lax bloggers who couldn’t care less about the rules of the road, literally or figuratively.
LOL! Exactly, Mark! 😀
Hahaha! This was great! I’ve never listened to Weird Al, I admit. I also admit the who vs. whom thing has always tripped me up.
I think commas are my weak spot. Glad you enjoyed! 😀
Reblogged this on A Novel Journey and commented:
An entertaining writing lesson. 🙂
Thank you for the reblog! 😀
I’ve seen this before, but thanks for sharing! I think the video and the song go together. 🙂
I love the graphic art involved in this video. I definitely appreciate the talent behind it. 😀
I got a kick out of this
YAY! I’m glad! 😀
Love this!
Excellent! 😀
Love this too. It took a long time for me to warm up to Weird Al, but then one day something suddenly clicked and I realized how brilliant he is in his parody writing. He really is awesome.
I agree that his parody writing is brilliant… I just don’t usually go for listening to music that I don’t necessarily otherwise love. Ya know? I’m glad you enjoyed this! 😀
*laughs* My dad had us watch this. I wish that everyone would.
LOL! It’s cute.:)
Yeah. And texting talk makes my head ache. ;-P
Me too. 🙂
