I hope my announcement yesterday about this month’s theme didn’t scare anyone away. In case you missed it, this month’s theme is interactive games. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a busy summer, so I’m ready for some downtime and some fun.
Today’s game is to Identify TV Shows That Feature an Engineer.
The rules are as follows:
1. You have to include the name of the TV show.
2. You have to include the name of the actor who plays the part of an engineer.
3. You have to include the name of the engineer character.
4. You have to include the type of engineer said character is.
5. You may NOT repeat any of my examples. (Preferably, please don’t repeat any examples from the comments above yours.)
6. You may NOT use the internet to reference anything. (Please play honestly.)
First, I’ll provide some examples, then it’s your turn:
Alright, now it’s your turn. I hope that each of you will rise to the occasion and play along with me. I’ll look forward to reading your answers below…
Talk to me: Do you like classic TV? Do you remember classic TV from the first time it was around? What was your favorite TV show when you were a kid?
Show – Bob the Builder; Actor – Bob the Builder; Character – Bob the Builder; Type of Engineer – Builder (called Bob as it happens).
So, what exactly are you trying to say, Mike? Are you trying to tell me about a builder? And his name is Bob? 😉 Just kidding. Great answer! 😀
Are Bob the Builder – a favourite of UK kids for decades. Personally I always preferred Fireman Sam yet good old Bob has stood the test of time.
I don’t know Fireman Sam. Please educate me. 🙂
Andy Griffith. I still love them. Lol.
Yes, Andy’s awesome! I love Barney, 😀
Star Trek, Montgomery Scott, engineer extraordinaire, played by Patrick Doohan (I think)
Excellent answer! Yay! 😀
Funny you should bring it up, but the other day an old show called “The many loves of Dobie Gillis popped into my head. It was a pop-culture icon at the time. I remember kids saying “Maynard” when somebody did something stupid. I don’t remember watching a single episode, but I was 6 at the time.
I LOVE Dobie Gillis! And Gilligan as Maynard. 😀
love the old shows but the only engineer i could think of was the one you named, on my 3 sons. even remember some of the theme songs –
Ward Cleaver on Leave It to Beaver was an engineer (as was his co-worker, Fred Rutherford). Though they only mentioned it in one episode and I don’t know what kind. 🙂
I like old shows, but I can’t play these games without my helpful friend, Google.
Google is also my medical dictionary.
LOL! Next week’s are a little easier. 😀
Ergh!! You got me again, woman. I can’t think of a single one besides Scotty from Star Trek, and he was already mentioned. Oooooo… I’ll get you, yet!! 🙂
LOL! I admit this was a difficult one. Next week they are a little easier. 😀
Heehee… There are several in various Sherlock Holmes books. 😛
Star Trek: The Next Generation. Giardi. Mechanical/chemistry engineer. 😉 Yes, I watch Next Generation. 😛 *giggles evilly* I got the other Star Trek one! I got the Star Trek one!!! >:-D
Excellent! I knew there had to be some Trekies out there who would get these. 😀
😀
Something weird happened at class today. The other day, I pointed out a nightshade family member that was growing at the back of the bed and one of the boys said the berries looked like a snack and offered one to me, and then today he offered me a mushroom… I think he’s just deliberately offering me things that may or may not be poisonous to tease me…
Oh dear! 😦
Wasn’t Mr. C, Richie Cunningham’s father, an engineer of some sort, on “Happy Days,” Rachel? I think Curly’s father on “The Three Stooges” was a mechanical engineer. Kate Jackson’s mother on “Charlie’s Angel’s” was an electrical engineer. And I just made all three of those up. I love love love old TV shows, including Dobie Gillis and Dick Van Dyke and Donna Reed and Father Knows Best, but damned if I know who was and wasn’t and engineer. Mr. Wilson on “Dennis the Menace,” perhaps?
LOL! You are too funny! I’m glad you admitted to making them up, because I was going to have to challenge the Happy Day’s answer… Howard Cunningham owned a hardware store. 😉 LOL!
Yes, you proved my point. Tool engineering!
LOL! 😀 Good answer!
